Located along the scenic banks of the Sundays River, Ndlovu Addo River Lodge offers comfortable, affordable, self-catering accommodation focused on relaxed waterfront living.
Though not a graded establishment, every unit is thoughtfully equipped with a spacious king-size bed, private entrance, en-suite bathroom, Wi-Fi, hairdryer, hand and body wash, and a private verandah with outdoor seating that leads out to lush gardens and river view.
Kitchenettes in every room feature an air fryer, microwave, gas hob, bar fridge, kettle, toaster, cutlery, and crockery, with complimentary bottled rainwater supplied for drinking and tea.
The property relies primarily on solar power, though air conditioning and heating operate on the grid and pause during load shedding.
Accommodation Options
Cottage 1: Free standing cottage directly facing the river.
Cottage 2: Features a private “His & Hers” outdoor bath set on a wooden deck at the bottom of the garden, directly facing the river.
Cottages 3 & 4: Adjoining cottages connected by a shared wall, each with its own private verandah. Ideal to be booked together for a family or group of four, but can also be booked separately as private retreats for two individual couples.
Cottage 5 (Luxury Spa Retreat): A sanctuary for relaxation, equipped with a full indoor bathroom (shower and tub), a private outdoor shower, and an exclusive Kolkol wood-fired hot tub. You also have direct access to the river with a private Jetty.
Cottage 6 (Romantic Escape): A unique, secluded retreat featuring side-by-side “His & Hers” outdoor soaking tubs under the open sky and direct access to the river with a private Jetty.
Cottages 7 & 8 (Private Haven): Situated 700 meters from the main guest house area for ultimate privacy. Each cottage features its own wood-fired hot tub, along with access to a sparkling swimming pool reserved exclusively for guests of Cottages 7 and 8 and direct access to the river with a private Jetty.
The Holiday Home: A spacious two-bedroom residence located 400 meters from the main lodge. Fully equipped with air conditioning and ceiling fans, it boasts a private garden, an exclusive swimming pool, and direct access to the river with a private Jetty.
The Glamping Tent (Safari Experience): Ideal for nature enthusiasts seeking an authentic outdoorsy stay, complete with a private open-air kitchen and traditional braai (bbq) setup.
The Studio: Located on the second floor above reception, this unit includes a separate second bedroom, making it easy to host a third adult or child for an additional R700 per night.
Guest Add-ons & Amenities
Extra Child: Cottages 1 and 2 can accommodate one additional child on a comfortable sleeper couch for R300 per night.
Meals & Breakfast: Delicious homemade frozen meals and breakfast delivered directly to your room—simply warm them up in your air fryer! Breakfast is delivered the day before, and food orders are taken via WhatsApp when we contact you prior to arrival.
Drinking Water: Drinking rainwater will be provided.
